Today was a very important day in my life. Today I understood more than ever that the certainty of something unknown is simply hope. Having faith that the decision you make today will be accurate and good. And there are some decisions that cost a lot of discernment. And it is precisely these decisions that will guide the course of my future. There are some decisions that mark destiny, change the direction and trajectory of our lives. Today I meditated on my mother’s life, all the decisions she had to make to get me and my siblings ahead. Also today I felt the pain of one of my patients when sharing the pain of having lost his mother in Mexico after having separated from her more than 20 years ago. Just as my mother and my patient at the time had the certainty that what they did by leaving their country was for a better future, I also know that every decision I make today will be a new starting point. Life evolves but not without pain. Every transformation is linked to its dose of suffering and feeling of loss. Today is a special day, a day with a new hope for the future.
