When Vision Is Lost

FILED IN: LIFE COACHING

In the game of chess, there are two main pieces, the king and the queen. The king is the most important piece, but the queen is the most powerful because she has more freedom of movement on the board. The queen’s main objective is to protect the king, and the king’s main objective is to protect his kingdom and defeat the opposing king. The difference between the king and the queen on the board is that the king’s movements are restricted, which keeps him in a state of alert to survive. The fact that the queen can move in directions the king cannot doesn’t mean the queen is his enemy or that she isn’t pursuing the same objective as him. The queen is responsible for forming a network of protection with the other pieces to keep the kingdom safe. The squares on the board are limited; each move of each piece determines whether the kingdom will survive or be defeated. Herein lies the importance of not losing sight of the vision. What is your king? What is your queen? What is the rest of your team? The squares are limited, the moves are crucial, and vision maintains focus.

In life, as in chess, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but if you lose, let it not be because you lost sight of your vision.
